Jeremy Herrmann
Steve Pribis
Joint Boat Patrol
Gary Lade
Gary Lade
Ryan Schowalter
Lori Janusz

The Woodruff Police Department currently provides 24 hour law enforcement coverage for the Town of Woodruff and employs the Minocqua Police Department for dispatch services. Woodruff also provides snowmobile patrol, boat patrol, and have members involved in the Oneida County dive team and NORDEG drug enforcement group. Participation in numerous law enforcement grants assists in obtaining funds for equipment and training while staying within budget.

Officers currently utilize several police vehicles, including Dodge Chargers as well as a Dodge Ram 4X4 truck. These vehicles utilize the latest in law enforcement technology such as in-car video systems and mobile data computers (MDC’s). All squads have available portable defibulators for medical emergencies. All squads have a cage system for transports and also carry emergency equipment, such as flares, fire extinguishers, accident reconstruction equipment, and first aid kits.

Woodruff PD Snow Patrol

During winter patrol a 2009 Yamaha Apex donated by the Cross Country Cruisers snowmobile club is used for snowmobile patrol along with a Ski Doo REV600 from the sheriff’s department. This patrol activity is covered by a grant from the State of Wisconsin, which pays wages and other expendables.

The Woodruff Police Department is committed to providing quality service to the taxpayers and maintaining a proud tradition that has carried on from our first full time officer to our newest hire. Population as of the 2000 Census was 1,982 with a population density of 69.5 people per square mile. Patrol jurisdiction encompasses 36.5 square miles with approximately 866 households.

In 2008 the department moved from their old facility at 750 Elm Street to the new facility at 1418 1st Avenue. The new department has many areas the old department lacked, such as interview rooms and audio/video recording equipment. An updated evidence room and inside garage space also bring us into the 21st century. A very large thank-you to the taxpayers of Woodruff who made it all possible, providing a modern, up to date facility which all can be proud of.
